If you match, then this is the class for you!

• I have been learning (and practicing!) for more than two years and can play confidently in first position, second, third and fourth position.
• I am exploring shifting up to fourth position and extensions (flats and sharps) and know my C major (2 octaves), G major (2 octaves), D major (2 octaves), E minor (2 octaves), D minor (2 octaves) and F major (2 octaves) scales and arpeggios.
• I have prior experience in an ensemble, group music program or choir.
• I can read music and interested in stretching myself with more challenges and new topics.
• I want to meet new cello people and be in a small community group.
• I am keen to learn how to play in two, or three or four parts in a cello group.

The Adult Intermediate Cello Class Program, designed and directed by Louise King, provides a monthly ensemble for group rehearsal and development for adult aspiring musicians who wish to be mentored in classical contemporary music performance practice including exploring classical, improvisation, folk, jazz and world music.

Designed with the adult amateur in mind, this group class is fun, dives into new topics and styles of music, develops existing skills and is delivered in a clear and engaging way.

Each class contains technical exercises to build coordination, confidence, musicianship, ear training and music theory. One instructive piece is worked on as a group with teacher demonstrations and at the end of class, this piece will be played by the group with teacher accompaniment. Nobody plays on their own unless they want to! Class activities are done all together in a supportive and encouraging environment. The emphasis is on building musicianship and performance skills integrated with learning to play the cello.

Under the expert guidance of professional musician Louise King, the participants will learn in a small group. This series of classes is designed to provide adult students to try playing the cello step by step.  It is an opportunity to try something new in a supportive group environment and meet people with similar interests.

requirements

Cello Dreaming recommends that participants have their own or rented cello to be attending the class.  It is highly recommended that you attend all classes to enjoy the sequenced development and to develop teamwork and confidence.

CONDITIONS

A place in the class is issued by Cello Dreaming and on behalf of Louise King. The booked place in the class is considered sold and subject to the following conditions:

1. The booked place cannot be exchanged with another applicant, returned and refunded after purchase.
2. The right is reserved to add, withdraw or substitute presenters, artists, vary ticket prices, and/or vary advertised programs, seating arrangements and class capacity.
3. The presenter, performer Cello Dreaming reserves the right of admission to the class.
4. If the class has to be cancelled due to natural disaster, adverse weather conditions or for any other cause reasonably beyond the presenter’s control, there is no right of refund or exchange, and no obligation is assumed by the presenter for the arranging of a substitute event.
