Caticum departs from the polyphony of recent Good Friday offerings and present the searing, intense Seven Last Words from the Cross, by Scottish composer James MacMillan, written for double choir and string orchestra. This work conveys Christ’s final utterances, combined with other liturgical texts, and has been described as spellbinding and achingly expressive.
